About The Event
Elizabeth Gurley Flynn was a fascinating woman who began her activism career at just fifteen years old. At nineteen, she made a name for herself in Spokane, Washington as she joined the workers' free speech fights and worked with the Industrial Workers of the World (IWW) to help improve working conditions. She continued to fight for fair labor, equal rights for women, and free speech throughout her life, and was even one of the founding members of the American Civil Liberties Union.
